Overview

Amazing opportunity to join Select Dental Management, a growing and profitable Dental Service Organization. The business is looking to double in size in the next two years and is working to hire the right individual to join the Finance /Accounting Function. The Regional Controller will be responsible for handling the day-to-day financials of a specific set of office locations. They will oversee the financial and accounting activities for their assigned locations. The Regional Controller will utilize strong accounting and financial skills to evaluate operating data, detect business trends, and prepare financial statements that comply with industry practices, regulatory requirements, and accounting principles.

    Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and own the monthly GAAP Financial statements for the assigned office locations including recording monthly journal entries and performing necessary reconciliations, identifying, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Responsible for overseeing and reviewing office locations’ Accounts Payables, including vendor management, timely bill pay, vendor analysis, cash flow management, etc.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable Management and the office cash management processes liaising with local offices to increase collections, reduce adjustments, and manage reserve levels.
  • Provide recommendations and assist in the development of more efficient financial policies & procedures across organization.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and communications to maximize the timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements.
  • Strong ability to hit the ground running and manage the details.
  • Ownership of financial systems, including QuickBooks/Sage Intact, Bill.com, and accounting systems.
  • Liaison between local offices, Operations, HR, and other key stakeholders on various tasks that have a financial implication.
  • Directly responsible for analytical review of respective office financial statements including variance to budget, prior month, prior year.
  • Responsible for review and preparation of account reconciliations and analysis, and ability to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and all internal financial accounting and control policies and all regulatory reporting requirements.
    Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent project management skills: must be well organized, have excellent multitasking skills, and a strong ability to troubleshoot and prioritize tasks
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all staff levels including Senior Management and Dentists, providing a superior customer service approach
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks & Sage Intact a plus
  • Team Oriented
    Education and Experience
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus; Big 4 or predecessor firm preferred
  • Strong accounting background
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • DSO or other similar health care business experience a plus
  • Strong business and financial acumen
