                                JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Agriculture Instructor/ Shotgun Sports Coach
REPORTS TO: Division Chair-Agriculture
CLASSIFICATION: Faculty
STATUS: Full-time, exempt
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month continuing position
JOB OVERVIEW: The Agriculture Instructor/ Shotgun Sports Coachs primary focus is teaching undergraduate agriculture classes and coaching the competitive shotgun sports team. The instructor may also teach other courses as needed and as appropriate to his or her degree. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.
JOB DUITIES:
 Teach 9 credit hours per semester with 6 hours of release time
 Coach the competitive Shotgun Shooting Sports Team
 Develop a program for competitive collegiate Archery program
 Design curriculum for prospective courses
 Assist in the development of courses using distance education and other technologies
 Assist with divisional events, clubs and teams
 Travel to various high schools, conferences, and other sites for recruitment
 Develop promotional materials including but not limited to flyers and pamphlets
 Oversee program website updates and programs social media
 Provide reports and information as requested
 Coordinate and conduct competitive and/or recruitment activities for the division
 Develop camps, workshops or field days for instructors and/or youth groups
 Develop educational opportunities on the college campus, college farm or South Ranch
 Maintain shooting range at South Ranch
 Coordinate and implement competitive team travel, and practice schedules
 Fundraise for team and/or division benefit
 Write and implement grants for the program
 Serve as advisor for clubs related to area

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
 Ability to work well with a diverse population
 Computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office
 Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 Bachelors in Agricultural program area required; Masters preferred
 Teaching experience at a 2 year institution preferred
 Teaching experience in a blended format and/or distance education
 Experience with multimedia classroom technology
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record
· Must be able to work in office and outdoor environments
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evening and occasional weekends
· Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 75lbs
