Job Summary

As a Home Care Aide at our Hillside community in Dayton, OR, you will be responsible for providing assistance with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. You will work closely with our residents, their families, and our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Your goal will be to provide exceptional care and support, promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene
  • Prepare meals and assist with dining activities, as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing
  • Assist residents with medication management and reminders
  • Escort residents to medical and social appointments, as well as outings and activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
  • Document resident information and care activities, as required
  • Participate in care planning and implementation, as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide effective customer service, responding to resident requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or home health aide (HHA) training program, preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with seniors, preferably in a home care or assisted living setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, with ability to document resident information and care activities
  • Reliable transportation, with a valid driver's license and insurance, preferred

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience with teaching or training others
  • Certification in first aid and CPR
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with ability to communicate with residents and families in their preferred language
