FileMaker Database Administrator (Remote Position)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced FileMaker Database Administrator to lead a three-phase project to modernize and migrate its on-premise FileMaker Server v13 database to FileMaker Cloud. The role involves recovering administrative access to the legacy FileMaker Server, creating database backups, building a new cloud-based database structure, and ensuring successful migration and verification of all records and data fields. This position requires hands-on expertise with both FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud platforms. Responsibilities Phase 1 – Recover Admin-Level Access & Backup • Recover administrative-level user access to FileMaker Server v13. • Establish a new set of administrative-level credentials for the Agency. • Create and validate two (2) local backups of the Agency's on-premise FileMaker database. Phase 2 – Build FileMaker Cloud Database • Create a new FileMaker Cloud database identical in schema and functionality to the existing on-premise FileMaker database. • Replicate approximately 7,300 records and 45 fields (25 text, 9 number, 4 date, 4 calculation, 3 summary) in structure. Phase 3 – Database Migration & Verification • Upload a copy of the Agency's on-premise FileMaker database to the new FileMaker Cloud instance. • Conduct structured verification of data migration, including: • Confirming all records are uploaded. • Ensuring all field data is properly transferred and functional. • Selecting and validating at least 350 nonsequential records against the original database. • Certify to the Agency that the migration is accurate, complete, and functional. • Provide a report of verification checks, test results, and certification of successful migration. Deliverables • Functional FileMaker Server administrator credentials. • Two (2) backup copies of the on-premise database. • A new FileMaker Cloud database identical in schema and structure. • A populated, functional, and certified FileMaker Cloud database. • Written certification and migration verification reports.
