About the Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with a team of skilled engineers to create alignment and deliver results. Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy software for Cloud Prem and SAAS customers, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Respond to and diagnose system incidents in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime and impact on users.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to establish root causes and implement effective resolutions, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Continuously improve incident response processes and documentation for future occurrences, ensuring that our systems and services are always running at peak performance.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the health and performance of our infrastructure and services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing operational enhancements.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks such as system configuration, user management, and data backups, ensuring the integrity and security of our systems.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements to ensure ongoing system reliability and efficiency, driving innovation and excellence in our operations.
  • Develop and implement scripts and automated solutions to streamline operational tasks and reduce manual workload, leveraging your technical expertise to drive process improvements.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to address critical incidents outside of regular business hours, demonstrating your commitment to our customers and our systems.
  • Ensure effective handoff between on-call engineers and document post-incident information for future reference, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Document processes for support and create, maintain, and execute run-books for identified situations, ensuring that our systems and services are always well-documented and easily maintainable.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in computer systems and software engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cloud platforms and cloud automation tools, especially in AWS, demonstrating your expertise in cloud-based systems and services.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Linux, AWS networking (VPC), and Terraform, showcasing your technical proficiency in these areas.
  • Experience with the GitOps model for deployment, highlighting your understanding of modern deployment practices and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with distributed version control, demonstrating your ability to work with complex version control systems.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), demonstrating your ability to monitor and optimize system performance.
  • Bazel and Helm experience, showcasing your familiarity with these tools and technologies.
  • Understanding of software configuration best practices, highlighting your commitment to delivering high-quality software and systems.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability in the face of changing priorities and requirements.
  • Hands-on, "can-do" attitude and a bias for action, showcasing your proactive approach to problem-solving and your willingness to take initiative.
