Intervention Specialist
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Intervention Specialist works closely with the Computer Science and Technology Director and BAT DATA ANALYTICS Program faculty to monitor student progress, identify those who are having non-academic or academic problems, and to provide coaching as needed. The Intervention Specialist assists with recruitment, admission, advising, and registration processes. May be required to conduct sessions in the evenings and weekends via zoom.Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivers academic advising, registration, and academic coaching for students in the BAT DATA ANALYTICS program.
- Participates in coaching trainings and implements strategies to ensure student success in the BAT DATA ANALYTICS program.
- Conducts transcript audits for prospective students and onboards new students.
- Conducts pre-course conference calls to students prior to the start of the term.
- Responds to or ensures all student and faculty emails are responded to within 24 hours.
- Proactively monitors student academic progress and intervenes with “at-risk” students.
- Assists students with routine technology needs.
- Refers students' questions to the correct department (Enrollment Services, Registrar, Academic Program Office, Financial Aid Office, etc.) for answers to questions.
- Updates student portfolios and keeps thorough documentation of coaching/advising sessions.
- Conducts reflection meetings with students during each “dead week” to discuss progress through courses, update on final grades, and registration for next term.
- Obtains weekly student progress reports from faculty, develops weekly coaching schedule, and assigns to staff.

- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in advising, tutoring, education, counseling, or related field; proficiency with educational technologies including LMS platforms, Zoom, and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Bachelor's Degree in education, counseling, information technology, data science, or a related field required.
- Experience in career counseling or academic advising; experience in educational settings, especially with technology/STEM students; experience with online learning, virtual student support services, and data-informed student success tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of online technology, including learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), Zoom, and other virtual student engagement tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to engage and support diverse student populations in both in-person and online environments
