Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions for all HPL employees, including new hires, ongoing training, and cross-training
 - Develop, design, and deliver training curriculum, slideshows, and videos that meet the needs of library staff
 - Lead and supervise assigned staff, providing timely and objective feedback, and fostering a learning and development environment
 - Take initiative to creatively solve problems and make sound decisions that support the goals of the library
 - Utilize Microsoft operating system and software, especially PowerPoint and Office 365, and other technologies such as Smartsheet and video editing software
 - Serve as the person in charge of the team in the absence of the manager and communicate effectively with staff at all levels
 - Assist in managing the Training and Professional Development Team, including responding to emails and managing training records
 - May provide reference assistance and perform circulation functions while assisting customers at the public service desk
 - May perform collection development and maintenance, and work one evening a week and every other weekend
 
Essential Qualifications
Education
- Master of Library Science degree from a school accredited by the American Library Association (ALA)
 - OR: Bachelor's degree plus 18 hours toward a Master's of Library Science degree from a school accredited by ALA and two years of library experience
 
Experience
- At least one (1) year of library experience
 
Preferred Qualifications

 - Video producing and editing
 - Personnel management and supervision
 
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
 - Excellent communication and customer service skills
 - Ability to plan and organize work, prioritize tasks, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
 - Knowledge of Microsoft operating system and software, especially PowerPoint and Office 365
 - Familiarity with other technologies such as Smartsheet and video editing software
 - Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) preferred

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is:
- $52,000 - $56,160 per year
