This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical IT systems that support federal operations and national defense initiatives. You will manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise systems while ensuring compliance with security regulations and service-level agreements. Collaborating with analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders, you will design and implement secure, reliable solutions that enhance operational efficiency. This position balances independent work with team collaboration, contributing to technical documentation, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge sharing. With occasional travel to client sites or government installations, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality IT services that directly impact national operations.

Accountabilities

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor enterprise systems across physical and virtual servers, databases, collaboration tools, and applications.
  • Ensure service solutions meet defined operational standards and act as the service owner for assigned systems.
  • Apply security principles under RMF 2.0 standards to maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate user needs into secure technical solutions.
  • Participate in sprint planning, user story refinement, unit/integration testing, and continuous delivery activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to shared knowledge repositories.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to improve performance, reliability, and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
  • Current MCSE Certification and CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise IT environments, including Windows and UNIX/Linux servers, databases, collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint), VMWare/ESXi, software applications, scripting, SANs, and computer security.
  • Experience with DoD or Federal Government projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DoD networks, ATO processes, or application security practices is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional visits to client sites or government installations.
