About the position

Responsibilities

  • Apply nursing principles and techniques in the care and treatment of clients
  • Administer prescribed medications ensuring the Rights of Medication Administration
  • Log out all medications administered
  • Utilize nursing protocols in the care of clients
  • Provide client and family education and make appropriate referrals as indicated
  • Evaluate Immunization status and administer immunizations per protocol using correct techniques as outlined in procedure manual
  • Accurately document all services provided
  • Assist with chart reviews and other QI activities to improve clinic functions and to meet the DOH mission statement and goals
  • Attend professional meetings to maintain and update nursing skills
  • Attend staff meetings or read the minutes to maintain working knowledge of changes in the organization
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees and students
  • Function as a team member by utilizing effective communication skills, assisting practitioners, and demonstrating leadership skills to support staff
  • Manage New Employee Health Packets
  • Initiate and update FL SHOTS and HMS records
  • Conduct Mask Fit Testing for all employees
  • Perform TB Risk Assessments and PPD placement for new employees
  • Conduct Annual TB Risk Assessments and PPDs
  • Administer Titers/Immunizations covered under employee health for new employees
  • Send records and documents to billing department
  • Organize Annual Employee Flu Immunization Clinic
  • Maintain employee health records (immunizations/screenings/results/etc.)
  • Maintain and update active/new/separated employee list from Human Resources
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Florida RN Licensure
  • BLS/AED Certified
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice-to-haves

  • BLS/AED Certification
  • Experience with child and adult immunizations and schedule
  • Experience with FL Shots online immunization information system
