The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is seeking a forward-thinking Web Developer & Digital Experience Assistant (IT AD Entry) to join our internal web services team. In this role, you won’t just code—you’ll connect. You’ll bridge the gap between business needs and tech solutions, working across teams to enhance safety tools, build digital training resources, and elevate the online experience for thousands of Washington workers and employers.
This position is mostly telework with limited travel statewide to attend training, agency supported conferences, or to attend meetings. The assigned duty station for this position is: Tumwater, WA.

Some of what you’ll do:
• Build and support the digital infrastructure of DOSH’s internal and public-facing web properties.
• Develop applications and eLearning modules using HTML, ASP/.NET, JavaScript, SQL, and more.
• Act as a conduit between DOSH programs, tech teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure accessibility and compliance across all web content (WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508).
• Bounce between tasks with agility—from coding to customer consultation to cross-team collaboration.

Tools You’ll Work With:
• Languages & Tech: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, ASP/.NET, Adobe XMP
• Data & Applications: SQL Server, Access, internal/external eLearning platforms
• Standards: WCAG 2.1 AA, UCD, State OCIO Policy 188, branding compliance
REQUIRED:
• Three years professional experience in web development, User Interface development, User Experience design, and/or Multimedia Design.
• Strong project management skills applied in a software development environment.
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical professionals and users.
DESIRED:
• English & Spanish Bilingual preferred; Bilingual jobs include a 5% salary increase for dual language responsibilities. L&I maintains web content in both English and Spanish. This position must publish content in Spanish – being fluent in Spanish would be helpful in this position.
• Professional experience database design and construction.
• Professional experience in Occupational Safety & Health.
• Experience working in team settings to plan, analyze, develop, test, and implement critical internet applications and databases.
