About the position
Responsibilities
• Learn and perform technical and analytical duties in application development, customer support, network administration, and systems programming.
• Assist in developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software and hardware infrastructure.
• Provide customer support for end-users of electronic data processing systems, including desktop support activities.
• Install new and replacement computers and peripherals for users.
• Resolve a variety of user problems and provide specialized training to enhance user productivity.
• Engage in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining business applications throughout the application development life cycle.
Requirements
• An Associate's Degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, business information systems, business administration, or a closely related field.
• Professional certification in one or more fields of information technology is preferred.
• Completion of at least twelve (12) college-level semester units in programming languages for positions designated for Systems Programmer, Programmer, or Application Developer.
• Knowledge of principles and current trends in information technology.
• Understanding of information systems software and hardware technologies for various environments.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with mainframe, server, personal computer, and client-server environments.
• Familiarity with general computer architecture including CPU, memory allocation, and peripheral devices.
• Basic programming skills in one or more programming languages.
