General Business Attorney - Chevy Chase, MD (HYBRID)

About the position Responsibilities • Provide legal advice and propose solutions for problems arising in the insurance business units. • Advise on business unit plans and anticipate future legal needs. • Coordinate support for assigned business units with the legal team and other departments. • Utilize a wide range of legal knowledge to identify implications of business choices across various legal areas such as privacy, insurance compliance, and consumer protection. Requirements • At least 2 years of experience at a law firm or in-house, preferably as a legal advisor for consumer-focused businesses. • Experience in property & casualty insurance, financial services, or regulated industries is preferred. • Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus for speaking and writing. • Must have a law degree and an active law license to practice in the USA. • Strong listening and communication skills. • Ability to quickly understand business plans and processes. • Ability to provide legal advice with incomplete information. • Superb judgment regarding legal risks and mitigation opportunities. • Solution-oriented mindset.
