Nonprofit Accountant/Finance Associate
About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist the CFO with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
• Provide assistance with actual to budget variance analysis and prepare commentary on financial statements.
• Perform general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations.
• Process accounts payables and receivables, building positive relationships with vendors and patrons.
• Handle cash payments and reconciliations, making bank deposits as needed.
• Process payroll for staff on a bi-weekly basis.
• Assist with various financial special projects, including grant reporting and supplying financial information for grant applications.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
• 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software such as QuickBooks.
• Experience processing payroll, preferably with Paycor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
