Cryptography Architect
About the position
Responsibilities
• Drive future-ready architecture and technology design for Cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure platforms.
• Design and architect new products and incremental features to meet cryptographic compliance needs.
• Integrate systems and solutions around crypto inventory and crypto-agility.
• Provide expertise on technical architecture and delivery of solutions for cryptographic agility and PQC readiness.
• Collaborate with various organizations across Verizon to deliver core Agility and PQC readiness.
• Develop products and solutions to meet internal and customer needs in the Cryptography space.
• Participate in industry standards and leadership organizations to drive standards and guidelines.
• Write white papers and contribute to open-source projects related to Cryptographic Agility and Quantum readiness.
• Lead solution definition and design with partners and vendors around cryptography.
• Provide cryptographic subject matter expertise in support of internal integrations.
• Conduct cryptographic analysis of assets and support the development of a Cryptographic Risk Framework.
• Oversee tools, strategy, and vendor assessments for the Crypto Technology Organization.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure consistent direction around Post Quantum Readiness planning and implementations.
• Lead the development of training and information programs in support of core initiatives.
• Present to cross-domain groups and senior management on strategic program progress and plans.
• Produce artifacts that contribute to Verizon's intellectual property portfolio or external technology communities.
• Attend conferences and public talks to represent Verizon in cryptographic technology.
Requirements
• Experience in Cyber Security technology, product development, and architectural design.
• Expertise in public key infrastructure (PKI) and understanding of crypto-related standards.
• Experience with large-scale public on-premise solution development and multi-tenant operations.
• Experience in operations of large-scale solutions involving sensitive enterprise data.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred in Cryptography, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline.
• Security Certification, CISSP, or other industry-recognized security credential preferred.
