Now Hiring: Senior Mentor and Training Consultant Freelance | Remote | $60/hour advising rate (USD) Another Degree (September soft launch at anotherdegree.com) is an independent startup specializing in admissions consulting for graduate and professional degree programs. We’re currently hiring for multiple freelance positions under the title Senior Mentor and Training Consultant. In this role, you’ll provide one-on-one virtual advising to clients preparing for graduate and professional school. You’ll also collaborate on training materials for incoming junior mentors and may be invited to contribute to blog content, curriculum development for institutional partners, or lead one-off virtual classes and workshops on topics related to graduate admissions and academic success. ​These roles are fully remote and offer flexible scheduling around your availability. We welcome candidates seeking casual or part-time work, with potential for expanded hours as our operations grow. ​Compensation: Senior Mentors are paid $60/hour (USD) for advising sessions. Additional compensation is available for approved writing, teaching, and curriculum development projects. ​ Qualifications (Required): • Prior experience in advising or admissions consulting for graduate or professional programs • Completion of a JD, MD, MBA, MFA, MPH, MPP, PhD, or other advanced degree (or current enrollment in the final stages of such a program) • Strong knowledge of career pathways relevant to your field of study • Exceptional writing and communication skills • Reliable high-speed internet connection ​ Desirable Qualifications: • Undergraduate or graduate degrees from top-tier institutions • Recipient of competitive fellowships, grants, or scholarships • Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level • Professional experience aligned with your post-graduate training • Background in student advising, student affairs, or academic support • Committee or evaluation experience related to admissions or fellowships • Training in counseling, guidance, or human relations • Experience in curriculum design and pedagogy • Multilingual fluency • International experience (e.g., emigration, study/work abroad) • Familiarity with global higher education systems and funding structures • Experience working with diverse populations, including minoritized groups, international students, disabled or neurodivergent individuals, and students across varied socio-economic backgrounds • Personal experience as a first-generation college student, low-income student, parenting student, or member of a minoritized group • Professional editing or writing advising experience ​ To Apply: Please email the following materials to [email protected] with the subject line: App: Senior Mentor and Training Consultant Include your name in the title of all attachments (e.g., “Walter White – Cover Letter”). • Cover letter outlining your qualifications and interest in the role • Current resume or CV • List of 3 relevant references Unofficial transcripts will be required for all hires but are not needed at the time of application. ​ Priority deadline: August 25, 2025 Applications will continue to be reviewed on a rolling basis.
