The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, Division of Construction
and Engineering’s growing online Construction Management program is
designed for pre-apprentices, apprentices, journeypersons, and
seasoned construction industry professionals alike who are looking
to develop the leadership and technical skills to plan, execute,
monitor, and lead the construction process. Developed by labor for
labor, the program is home to (3) online stackable certificates in
construction management, project management and construction
leadership and the program honors the value of work-based learning
experiences and apprenticeship program completion.
To support this robust growth, we seek energetic and innovative
teacher-scholars as Adjunct Professors who are interested in
sharing their knowledge and wisdom with our students and share our
commitment to excellence in engineering education.
If you have prior academic or - in particular – construction
industry experience and would like to like to share your knowledge
and wisdom with an enthusiastic group of online learners, and in
fact shape the next generation construction workforce of our
nation, The Division of Construction and Engineering Management at
the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering invites applicants who
have an interest and expertise in teaching lower and upper level
construction management courses.
Our Adjunct Professors, who are typically active or retired
industry professionals, constitute an important part of the fabric
of the Division of Construction and Engineering Management teaching
and learning community as they bring their unique experiences and
perspective to our department.
Applicants must have earned at least a master’s degree in
construction management, construction engineering, or a related
discipline and should have demonstrated evidence of effective
teaching in an online environment with emphasis on emerging topics
and adaptive technologies to support a successful student learning
experience. Individuals with demonstrated expertise in construction
management, especially in areas of estimating and bidding,
construction safety, planning and scheduling, and project modeling
and management are particularly encouraged to apply.
Strong communications skills, and the ability to teach in an online
project-based setting are essential. A commitment to the success of
all learners is required. The appointment is part-time,
non-tenure-track, with renewable contracts, based on performance
(including student evaluations), departmental needs, and university
and budgetary approvals. Review of applications will begin

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency
Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University
adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $1,975 per credit for all
courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per
semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be
assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed
basis.
