Direct Marketing Specialist
ONSITE in Downtown ATL
40hrs a week - Long term / ongoing contract / plans to convert in 2026
Junior-to-mid-level marketing professional who is passionate about digital marketing and data. The main goal of the role is to create, manage, and send out a lot of marketing campaigns for music tours, primarily using email, SMS (text messages), and mobile wallet notifications.
You'll be working in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for multiple projects at once. The job is a mix of hands-on campaign execution and strategic thinking. You'll work with other marketers and a senior team to figure out how to best personalize these campaigns for different audiences.
Here’s a breakdown of the key responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
• Campaign Execution (Email and SMS): A huge part of your job (around 60%) is building, testing, and sending email and SMS campaigns. You'll use a platform called Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) to create campaigns for tour announcements, presales, and general ticket sales. You'll need to be very detail-oriented, as you’ll be responsible for proofreading all content, checking links, and making sure everything looks correct before it’s sent out.
• Mobile Wallet Notifications: You'll also spend a significant amount of time (25%) on the Wallet Pass program. This involves sending out push notifications and managing updates for mobile wallet passes. This is a newer area of digital marketing, so you'll be key in helping to guide the strategy for this channel.
• Data and Analysis: You'll need to know how to pull specific lists of people to target for campaigns and be able to analyze the results of the emails and SMS messages you send. Based on this data, you’ll recommend changes to make future campaigns more successful.
• Collaboration: You'll regularly communicate with other marketers to keep them updated on campaign best practices, new regulations, and any changes in the process.
Required Skills and Experience
• Technical Skills: You need to have 2–4 years of experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform for email and SMS marketing. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, especially Journey Builder, is a big plus.
• Coding: You should have some knowledge of Email HTML and CSS for troubleshooting issues, as well as a basic understanding of AMPScript (a coding language used in SFMC).
• Soft Skills: You must be organized, have a strong attention to detail, and be a good problem-solver. Since you'll be managing many tasks at once and working with a team, you'll need to be able to work independently and communicate well.
Desirable Skills (Plusses)
• Project Management: Any experience with project management tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus.
• Music Industry Knowledge: If you know about the music industry, that will be helpful.
• SQL: Experience with SQL (a language for managing databases) is also a plus, as it can be used to pull more complex data lists.
In short, this is a hands-on, execution-heavy role for someone who loves the technical side of digital marketing and wants to work in the fast-paced world of music touring. The job requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once, all while being a collaborative team member.
