As an Entry-Level Helpdesk Technician, you will:
- Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals
- Assist with setting up new user accounts and managing access permissions
- Document and track support requests using a ticketing system
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed
- Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics
- Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and supplies
- Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- High school diploma with 1-2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
Preferred qualifications include:
- An associate or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field
- Experience with Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications
- Knowledge of basic network troubleshooting and configuration
- Prior experience in a helpdesk or customer support role
