Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a manager, supervisor, pharmacist, or higher-level pharmacy technician, you will perform activities associated with drug distribution, ordering, and control for medication dispensing. Your responsibilities will include receiving electronic prescriptions, filling prescriptions, operating automation equipment, and maintaining accurate records. You will also serve as a liaison between our customers, providers, and pharmacy, ensuring a positive experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and fill electronic prescriptions, weekly batches, or refill requests accurately and efficiently
  • Operate and monitor robotic machines that dispense medications
  • Prepare blister packs, pharmaceutical supplies, and drugs for delivery
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs, equipment, and work areas
  • Use pharmacy software to check and record data about prescriptions
  • Establish and maintain patient profiles, including medication lists and care plans
  • Participate in company quality initiatives and recognize opportunities for improvement

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Technician-in-Training (or commitment to becoming nationally certified within 18 months of hire)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to multi-task, handle multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent typing and data entry accuracy, with proficiency in proprietary and other pharmacy software
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to accurately count, measure, and weigh Rx components

Physical Demands:

This role requires standing and/or walking for most of the shift, with regular lifting of office and clinical supplies (up to 5 pounds) and occasional lifting or carrying of up to 30 pounds.

Schedule and Travel:

Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization, with potential adjustments as needed. Travel may be required for special department events, trade shows, or conferences.
