We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our diverse, remote-first team of experts. As a key player in our team, you will design, develop, and maintain robust data platforms that drive critical insights and informed decision-making. Requirements:
- Eligibility to work as an independent contractor from any location within the Americas region, with overlap with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
 - For US applicants: ability to work as an independent contractor under an LLC, C-Corp, or S-Corp.
 - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
 - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to gather requirements and explain technical decisions clearly.
 - Demonstrated ownership mindset: ability to take initiative and see tasks through to completion with minimal oversight.
 - 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, with deep hands-on experience in DBT.
 - Proficiency or experience with relevant tools and technologies:
    
- Must-have: DBT, Python, SQL (Redshift/Postgres), Git.
 - Used in current stack: Fivetran, AWS Glue, Tableau, Metabase.
 
 - Comfort with debugging data pipelines, maintaining legacy systems, and working with systems developed by previous teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve existing data and business analytics systems using DBT, Fivetran, and Tableau.
 - Model a large marketing dataset using DBT.
 - Troubleshoot and fix data pipeline issues, responding to alerts generated by Fivetran, CloudWatch, and other monitoring systems.
 - Collaborate closely with the engineer team and a data scientist, with occasional requests from Marketing and Finance teams.
 - Ensure clarity and accuracy in reports and dashboards used by business stakeholders.
 - Follow clean coding and refactoring practices, documentation standards, and strive for production-readiness in all outputs.
 
The projected salary range for this position is from $45 to $55/hr, determined by the candidate’s interview outcome, skills, experience, education, and alignment with market data.
