The Opportunity: Leading Analytical Innovation and Operational Efficiency

As the Senior Analytical Operations Leader, you will be a key driver in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of analytical services for our manufacturing assets in Sabine. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our talented analytical operations team, setting priorities, and fostering a high-performing work environment. This role demands a versatile skillset encompassing analytical technology, process chemistry, laboratory management, and people leadership. You will play a crucial role in optimizing lab productivity, ensuring operational objectives are met, and contributing to the development of innovative analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, and track the progress of the site’s analytical strategy, aligning with Dow’s broader analytical goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement and optimize analytical work processes and effective lab management systems to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • People Leadership: Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management for analytical operations employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate resources for analytical projects and activities, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide analytical technology and process chemistry expertise to resolve process, product, and analytical challenges.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage analytical prime controllable expenses, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable analytical services.
  • Capital Planning: Coordinate capital planning and serve as a focal point for the procurement of analytical equipment and technologies.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for analytical vendors, contract labs, and services.
  • Continuous Improvement: Facilitate the identification and implementation of process improvements, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with business, function, and site stakeholders to develop and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and address analytical issues.
  • Safety and Compliance: Serve as a role model for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) practices, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and conducting thorough incident investigations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or related environment.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing setting (e.g., people leader, project leader, team lead).
  • Strong understanding of analytical methodologies, instrumentation, and quality control principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess the legal right to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available.
