Senior Project Manager - American Airlines

As a member of our Technical Projects Group, you will be responsible for managing project expectations, driving timely delivery, and leading a team of cross-functional project partners to achieve project goals. You will have the opportunity to work independently as a Project Lead, developing and executing project plans, and collaborating with various teams to influence project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and execute interdisciplinary projects, including technical projects, engineering, documentation, supply chain, and maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success and achieve business objectives
- Establish project plans, including project objectives, scope, schedule, milestones, assignments, communication procedures, and deliverable timelines
- Monitor, track, and coordinate fleet projects to ensure production readiness and quality
- Focus on project planning work for effective risk and change management
- Interact with various systems to manage daily expectations and project performance
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for project cycle or technical work details
- Lead project progress, drive collaboration, and support project team members to succeed in their roles and responsibilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Planning, Project Management, or equivalent work experience/training
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or in management roles in aviation, engineering, and planning capacity
- Airline experience is required
- Preferred qualifications: Project Management certification, previous management experience, and knowledge of AA planning, policies, and procedures
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven self-starter with a positive attitude and high learning capacity
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels within the organization
- Ability to develop project plans, quality control objectives, and examples of learning opportunities
- Problem-solving ability with a high level of motivation, attention to detail, integrity, and reliability
- Strong Project Management skills, experience managing scope, technical details, schedules, and budgets in a project environment
- Ability to think "outside the box" and leverage data obligations to drive performance improvements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams, etc.
