We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Remote Director to lead our live sports broadcasting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the production of live remote games, working closely with schools and colleges to ensure seamless broadcasts, and collaborating with our creative and technical teams to deliver high-quality content.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to schools on all aspects of TV production, leveraging your extensive experience in the truck, including AP and promotion responsibilities, producer and director roles, and a deep understanding of technical below-the-line roles.
- Liaise with school creation partners to provide constructive feedback on student-produced content.
- Visit school creation partner campuses to assess equipment, discuss and recommend industry-standard production procedures, and serve as a liaison for school administrative staff.
- Design, coordinate, and execute live productions of live remote games, accurately archiving assigned events.
- Pursue on-the-spot decisions regarding which images and sounds to broadcast, interpreting data and information to make shot, element, and arrangement decisions.
- Collaborate with producers and technical teams to determine camera placement at each venue, designing and executing the capture of desired shots, live-to-tape assemblies, and sequences of shots.
- Work with design professionals to integrate all elements in a broadcast, including graphics, augmented reality components, switcher effects, composite music, and more.
- Coordinate technical teams and consultants assigned to remote events, conducting production and technical meetings to define team responsibilities and establish expectations for the team for each live remote game.
- Partner with the Operations team to assign production technical teams for assigned live events, providing post-event feedback and analysis to the Events team and Operations office on assigned team members.
- Conduct research on teams, players, storylines, trends, and more to stay informed on each game/sport assigned.
- Provide guidance to live talent before broadcasts and direct them as needed during broadcasts.
- Make on-the-spot adjustments to broadcast plans in response to unexpected circumstances and emerging opportunities.
- Investigate and resolve on-the-spot technical issues that arise during assigned live remote games.
- Ensure that all advertisements and promotions for all assigned productions are accurately embedded.
- Participate in the development of ideas and content for assigned games to engage audiences and increase market reach and viewership.
- Communicate effectively with and collaborate with various stakeholders, including groups, associations, school/college staff, coaches, players, and more, for assigned live remote games.
- Maintain ongoing communication with external resources, such as talent, production companies, to provide required services, equipment, and components, resources, parts, and data for assigned live remote games.
Essential Capabilities:
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Knowledge of the continuous live game production cycles.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with all team members during live broadcasts.
- Knowledge of the technical equipment associated with coordinating live remote games.
- Proven live remote game production skills.
- Knowledge of sports history.
