Lanakila Pacific is seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor II/DSW to join our Teaching and Learning Center team! As an Instructor II/DSW, you will play a vital role in providing direct instruction, care, and personalized training to program participants, empowering them to achieve their highest level of independence and participate fully in their communities.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) Instructor II provides high-quality instruction, care, and support to TLC program participants, aligning with Department of Health (DOH) Waiver Standards and Lanakila Pacific's values and program standards. The successful candidate will plan and implement daily program activities that foster independence, community engagement, and personal growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and teach course curriculum to assigned groups via in-person or online platforms
- Create and implement outcome-driven program activities that cater to participants' needs and interests
- Assist participants with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and maintain confidentiality of participant records
- Supervise and support participants based on their individual needs and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs)
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all safety procedures and practices
- Communicate effectively with participants, caregivers, and staff, both orally and in writing
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion or equivalent required
- One year of documented experience working with ID/DD or elderly populations
- Clearances/Certifications: annual TB clearance, current First Aid and CPR Certification, Criminal Background check, and more
- Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract
WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS
- Scheduled to work 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm (8-hour shift may vary)
- May be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays
- Indoor and outdoor work environments, including classroom/office settings, community-based activities, and travel to program sites
COMPENSATION
$15.21 - $15.92 per hour (full-time position)
