Join the University of Arizona's Distance Education team as a Senior Student Success Specialist in Yuma, AZ! As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving student success, fostering a supportive learning environment, and promoting University of Arizona Online, Distance, and Continuing Education programs.

About the Role:

  • Provide personalized coaching, advising, and support to students, focusing on goal setting, academic success, financial aid, and career development.
  • Develop and implement student success plans, utilizing data-driven strategies to re-engage students and promote retention.
  • Build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a comprehensive support system.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, colleges, and central units to deliver exceptional student services.
  • Analyze student data to identify trends, monitor progress, and inform student support services.

Responsibilities:

  • Success Coaching & Advising: Connect students with developmentally and situationally appropriate support services, follow up on outcomes, and build strong relationships.
  • Enrollment Management: Provide information to clientele on University of Arizona Online, Distance, and Continuing Education programs, track enrollment, retention, and graduation.
  • Student Engagement: Create and maintain a University of Arizona Yuma student culture by planning events and creating opportunities for students to explore the local community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to facilitate student conversations.
  • Knowledge of routine computer applications and software, including student information systems and customer relationship management systems.
  • Active listening skills and ability to problem-solve through investigation and understanding of needs and conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish-English.
  • Experience in university or community college student support services and/or advising.
  • Experience developing and implementing student success programs for adult learners.
  • Experience using call dialing technology.
