Join the University of Arizona's Distance Education team as a Senior Student Success Specialist in Yuma, AZ! As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving student success, fostering a supportive learning environment, and promoting University of Arizona Online, Distance, and Continuing Education programs.
About the Role:
- Provide personalized coaching, advising, and support to students, focusing on goal setting, academic success, financial aid, and career development.
- Develop and implement student success plans, utilizing data-driven strategies to re-engage students and promote retention.
- Build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a comprehensive support system.
- Collaborate with academic departments, colleges, and central units to deliver exceptional student services.
- Analyze student data to identify trends, monitor progress, and inform student support services.
Responsibilities:
- Success Coaching & Advising: Connect students with developmentally and situationally appropriate support services, follow up on outcomes, and build strong relationships.
- Enrollment Management: Provide information to clientele on University of Arizona Online, Distance, and Continuing Education programs, track enrollment, retention, and graduation.
- Student Engagement: Create and maintain a University of Arizona Yuma student culture by planning events and creating opportunities for students to explore the local community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to facilitate student conversations.
- Knowledge of routine computer applications and software, including student information systems and customer relationship management systems.
- Active listening skills and ability to problem-solve through investigation and understanding of needs and conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish-English.
- Experience in university or community college student support services and/or advising.
- Experience developing and implementing student success programs for adult learners.
- Experience using call dialing technology.
