Strategic Finance Manager (USA Remote)

We are looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to join our FP&A team to be a trusted partner for SoundHound Leadership. Reporting to the Director of FP&A and working closely with the CFO, you will help your partners be successful and achieve financial goals, grounded in financial reality through modeling and analysis. You will improve forecast reliability, enhance our reporting, improve FP&A processes, benchmark against leading industry players and plan the future of SoundHound business.
In this role you will:
• Assess and identify industry peers in related markets to benchmark SoundHound
• Evaluate and execute a variety of strategic initiatives, including investments, and strategic projects & partnerships
• Manage SoundHound’s corporate P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts, understanding important levers and driving top-line growth balanced with profitability
• Partner with Business Leaders, Talent Acquisition and COO org on headcount management and hiring process improvement
• Assist in running month-end close with accounting team, summarize executive key levers to any variances from expectation/forecasts
• Strive to forecast financial results within 2% accuracy and provide recommendations by developing an understanding of SoundHound's business model
• Improve financial processes and identify areas to implement system improvements to support hyper-growth at scale
We would love to hear from you if you are or have:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or comparable quantitative field.
• 6+ years of FP&A, strategic planning, P&L management or related experience (e.g. Investment Banking, Management Consulting), with a focus on software and technology
• Expert in Excel and Google Sheets; comfortable with different modeling techniques and shortcuts, ability to develop analysis and models that influence decisions
• Able to work in ambiguous environment but still drive results, solve complex problems, exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
• Very strong quantitative skills, a good sense of how to dissect problems and a strong ability to “connect the dots” – e.g. understand how pieces of data interact with each other or how one finding would influence the result of another analysis
• Experience using financial planning systems such as Anaplan or Adaptive
• Approach work with curiosity, an eye for both detail and big picture, strong initiative, and a can-do mentality
We’d be especially excited if you
• Enjoy creating & building models, processes, and solutions from scratch
• Anaplan modeler or expert
• Deep expertise in SaaS environments and with ASC 606 and software revenue recognition rules
• Knowledge or experience of IoT Monetization
