The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated engineer who is driven to deliver innovative products that keep our customers safe. Must be a self-starter and must work effectively cross-functionally. Working as a Wireless Charging Module Design Release Engineer (DRE) can provide one with a strong foundation of leadership skills. The Wireless Charging Module HW DRE is responsible for definition of requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, testing and management of engineering projects for Wireless Charging Components where creativity, initiative and independent judgment are involved. Additionally, the Wireless Charging Module DRE provides technical direction over a Product Development Team consisting of engineers and engineering support personnel. Responsible for the technical project management and design release of a wireless charging system. This includes managing supplier timing; running PDT meetings; issue investigation and resolution; ensuring part deliveries to benches, vehicle retrofits, and assembly plants. What You’ll do: Lead integration of Component Validation Engineer tasks into HW DRE role. Create and maintain Interface Control Design (ICD) strategy and ICD templates Develop & Maintain commodity specific documentation. Generate and Maintain Global subsystem/component technical specifications templates. (SSTS/CTS) Lead resolution of technical issues "Close the Loop" on learnings by updating required information (Best Practices, GM Specifications, Statement of Requirements, Template, etc.) and document progress in Problem Resolution Tracking System. Work cross-functionally within GM, coordinating multiple suppliers. Lead/manage supplier resident engineers Support sourcing activities Generate technical solutions for current, new and major programs Perform complex design analysis Initiate documents to provide engineering authority and to maintain math/CAD data Work with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support build programs Descrição de Cargo Adicional Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science 5+ years of related experience Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming. Knowledge of wireless phone technology High level understanding of hardware design and failure modes in electronic modules. In-depth knowledge of vehicle serial data communications. Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software/hardware requirements. High level knowledge of software verification/validation processes. In-depth knowledge of testing and associated tools. Capability to translate text based functional requirements into software algorithms and models.
