About the position Responsibilities • Teach assigned contact hours per semester. • Adequately prepare for lessons based on instructor experience. • Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through written outlines and approved syllabus. • Create interesting and relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes. • Engage, support, and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning. • Provide timely grades and feedback to students through college software. • Respond to student questions in a timely manner. • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus. • Demonstrate quality online classroom management techniques. • Provide quality assessment of student work with substantive feedback. • Incorporate faith-based discussions in class forums. • Participate in online faculty development opportunities. • Communicate in a timely manner with students and ODP staff regarding concerns. • Proactively participate with students in the online classroom. Requirements • Must have a conferred master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field. • Prior teaching experience, especially with online populations, is strongly desired. • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet usage. • Must have a computer and reliable high-speed internet access. Nice-to-haves • A terminal degree related to Psychology, Social Work, or Child Development is preferred. • Prior online teaching experience. • Experience working with non-traditional learners. • Proficiency using a Learning Management System, preferably Moodle. • Curriculum development experience or knowledge of best practices in online curriculum design.
