                                About the position
Kennametal Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales Representative for CNC Machining Tooling, a critical role that supports the company's long-term growth initiatives. This position is designed for dynamic team players with metal cutting experience who are looking to transition from hands-on machining roles to an entry-level sales position. The Inside Sales Representative will work remotely from within the United States and will be responsible for acquiring new customers, retaining and growing existing customer relationships, and leveraging digital marketing strategies to enhance customer outreach. In this role, the Inside Sales Representative will collaborate closely with the marketing team to utilize digital platforms for proactive customer engagement and lead follow-up, aiming to convert leads into long-lasting customer relationships. The representative will also work in tandem with field sales within a defined territory, driving sales opportunities to closure and establishing loyal repeat customers through both direct and indirect selling methods. This position requires effective communication and teamwork with internal and external customers to ensure exceptional service delivery. Key responsibilities include actively pursuing new customers through various outreach methods, identifying potential markets through research and cold calling, driving customer adoption of e-commerce tools, managing the sales process from proposal to close, and collaborating with channel partners to enhance work collaboration. The Inside Sales Representative will also engage in technical discussions with customers, leveraging CRM and sales enablement tools to document interactions and manage customer relationships effectively.
Responsibilities
• Actively pursue new customers through lead follow-up activities, with the main goal of increasing sales through outbound calling, emailing, and video conferencing.

• Identify potential untapped markets through cold calling, research, and leads.

• Drive customer adoption of e-commerce tools through education and marketing campaigns.

• Retain and grow existing relationships with customers within the small to mid-market realm.

• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the customer portfolio.
,
• Manage the sales process from proposal to close, including negotiating pricing, agreements, and programs.

• Transition accounts as needed to and from field sales based on specific customer needs.

• Collaborate internally and cross-functionally to continuously improve processes on customer acquisition and retention.

• Actively engage with peers at channel partners to build relationships and increase work collaboration.

• Customer problem solving through effective communication and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.

• Engage in technical discussions with potential and current customers through demonstrations and presentations.

• Leverage CRM and sales enablement tools to document customer interactions (i.e., calls, emails, tasks & report preparation).
Requirements
• Minimum Level of Education: Associate degree or Technical training.

• 2-4 years of relevant industrial work experience, preferably in machining/metal cutting.
,
• 1-3 years of customer-facing experience in sales and/or service industry.
,
• Experience with sales through channel partners/distribution is a plus.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Effective customer-facing communication skills.

• Proven success in and genuine enthusiasm for working directly with customers.

• Strong aptitude for product sales.

• Proven ability to internally engage across corporate functions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to host meetings.
