About the position Monk's Home Improvements is a full-service home improvement company located in New Jersey, currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our accounting team. This role is crucial in helping the company maintain its budget and schedule for various jobs and projects. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the accounting department, ensuring that all financial operations run smoothly. While prior experience in a similar role is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and grow within the company. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23 to $25, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance at no cost to the employee, a matching 401(k) plan, and the opportunity to work from home two days a week after the initial training period. The role requires a commitment of no less than 40 hours per week, with a Monday to Friday schedule. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a basic understanding of accounting principles, making them a valuable asset to our team. In this role, the Administrative Assistant will meet weekly with in-house sales representatives and production crews to review the progress of current jobs. They will track expenses, enter payments, create invoices, and close out jobs upon completion. Additionally, the assistant will prepare monthly reports for production crews and handle various other accounting functions and administrative duties as needed. Responsibilities • Meeting with in-house sales representatives and production crews weekly to review progress of current jobs , • Tracking expenses for current jobs , • Entering payments , • Creating invoices , • Closing out jobs once complete , • Creating monthly reports for each of our in-house production crews , • Preparing deposits , • Performing other accounting functions and administrative duties as needed Requirements • Work experience in a similar role and/or basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles , • Excellent verbal and written communication skills , • Strong organizational and time management skills , • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) , • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platform , • Experience with Sage Intacct or other accounting software is a plus , • Basic mathematical skills , • Ability to perform higher-level functions, such as processing invoices, preparing reports, data entry, scanning documents, and any other tasks that contribute to the function of the accounting department , • Problem-solving skills , • Bilingual (Spanish) Nice-to-haves • Experience with Sage Intacct or other accounting software , • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platform Benefits • 401(k) matching , • Health insurance , • Paid time off , • Work from home options after training Apply tot his job
