Job Duties


VDOT is seeking an individual to provide financial support and services to include maintaining, calculating, researching, validating and performing data input for various accounting transactions for the Richmond District Business Office. Transactions may include time and attendance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, SPCC (Small Purchase Charge Card), travel, inventory, and other related fiscal service transactions. You will maintain and perform data entry of employee time, overtime, leave, and equipment rental; receive, verify, and reconcile invoices to Cardinal receiver, review charge distributions for accuracy and ensure documentation has appropriate signatures, approvals and required SWAM documentation; process Mancon invoices; prepare requisitions and purchase orders; receive and verify, and reconcile SPCC; review and perform data entry of travel authorizations reimbursements; key inventory data and run monthly reports.

Minimum Qualifications


Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and business principles. Working knowledge of policy and procedure related to time and attendance, accounts payable/receivable, procurement, inventory, and travel. Knowledge of office and program support activities. Ability to monitor and analyze data and accurately perform data entry in automated financial and inventory systems and prepare financial reports. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customer and to work independently or as a team member. Ability to maintain files, purge and dispose of files in accordance with records retention guidelines and schedules. Skill in the use of computers and software applications to include automated inventory and financial management software and Microsoft Office programs. Valid driver's license required.


Additional Considerations


Experience applying knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting, internal controls, inventory, and compliance. Knowledge and experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Knowledge and experience performing account reconciliations and tracking time and attendance.
