About SIR
The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) is a thriving professional medical society dedicated to optimizing patient care and improving lives through minimally invasive, image-guided treatments. Position Summary:
SIR is seeking a driven and hardworking individual to work with our publications team in the development of SIR's Fall and Winter issues of IR Quarterly. In this position, you will be working under the guidance of SIR's Editorial Manager and Director of Publications. You will be able to gain experience producing and publishing a quarterly magazine from start to finish and will receive the opportunity to build your writing and editing portfolio. In addition to writing and editing, you will have the chance to be a part of interviews to be used in the publications. You will also have the opportunity to review and edit the contents of the materials published by SIR.
This Publications Internship is a paid fully remote internship with flexible hours. This internship will be approximately 14 hours of work each week during the Fall semester with the possibility of extension.
Requirements:
- Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Soliciting and managing content submissions
- Basic editing of material in the publications
- Content development (interviewing, writing, or transcribing as needed)
- Posting articles to the website and developing social media content
- Proofing emails such as Guidewire or SIR Scan
- Ad hoc duties as needed
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with Microsoft office
- Copyediting
- Writing
- Strong communication skills
- Education:
- Currently enrolled in an English, Communications, or Journalism program at an accredited college
