    What you will have an opportunity to do:
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner and ensures compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, as well as hotel policies
  • Prepares and calculates changes to prior payrolls
  • Reconciles and audits all payrolls. Defines and takes corrective action as needed
  • Provides answers to general payroll questions and address issues that may arise in a timely manner
  • Processes and releases manual off-cycle disbursements
  • Maintains payroll records, including electronic and paper filings
  • Must be able to work with ADP and internal payroll team to clear all tax matters to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Responds to governmental inquiries upon receipt
  • Adheres to payroll deadlines for submission. Maintains regular attendance in compliance with standards, as required by scheduling which may vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Acts as a liaison between multiple departments, must be able to communicate effectively with other departments to achieve departmental goals
  • Builds and maintains quality working relationships with the Corporate Payroll and hotel Human Resources teams
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all payroll data
  • Must be able to prioritize job functions to meet deadlines
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Open and verify cash drop envelopes from Outlets and Front Desk
  • Maintain house fund bank and individual bank contracts
  • Reconcile and prepare daily cash deposits for the hotel
  • Conduct monthly audit for all house bank/funds
  • Ensure compliance with established hotel policies for cash handling
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Sedentary work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

What are we looking for?

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to work with, understand and interpret financial information, accounting and payroll concepts, hotel operations data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating departmental needs as required to maintain compliance with all agencies related to governing proper payroll production and retention
  • Must be effective in handling and solving accounting and financial problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions and lead team to meet deadlines
  • Must always maintain confidentiality of all information
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 1 year of Payroll and Cashier experience required
  • Must have a strong working and current knowledge of ADP and WORKDAY
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills with aptitude in mathematical problem solving, great attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Experience with General Accounting Principles strongly preferredWorking knowledge of payroll taxes and external audits strongly preferred
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, college courses in accounting preferred
