The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Growth Manager – Search Engine Marketing (SEM) & Amazon Sponsored Ads to lead and optimize our paid search strategy across the entire Google ecosystem, including Google Ads, Google Shopping, and Performance Max (PMax). This role is also responsible for driving growth through Amazon Sponsored Ads. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance this company’s visibility, drive acquisition, and optimize both branded and non-branded keyword campaigns.

You’ll be tasked with optimizing campaigns for Google Ads, Google Shopping, and Performance Max (PMax) while ensuring our Amazon Sponsored Ads are optimized for visibility and conversions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to align our paid strategies with this company’s overall growth goals and brand mission. This role will report to the Head of Growth. This person must be based in the United States or Canada. This company is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.

Who You Are

● Experience: 6+ years of experience in performance marketing with a strong focus on paid search (SEM), Amazon Sponsored Ads, Google Shopping, and Performance Max (PMax). You have successfully driven growth through keyword optimization, strategic bidding, and campaign management.

● Technical Skills: Expertise in managing the entire Google ecosystem (Google Ads, Google Shopping, PMax) as well as Amazon Sponsored Ads campaigns. Proficient in tools like Google Analytics, Google Merchant Center, and Amazon Seller Central. Experience with keyword research, A/B testing, and ROI optimization is a must.

● Keyword Optimization Expert: You excel at identifying, optimizing, and managing both branded and non-branded keyword strategies to capture high-intent searchers and grow market share.

● Amazon Advertising Pro: Proven experience in managing Amazon Sponsored Ads, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display campaigns. You understand how to drive traffic to product listings and maximize sales on the platform.

● Analytical and Results-Driven: You love working with data to understand campaign performance, optimize bidding strategies, and improve ROAS (Return on Ad Spend). You’re comfortable managing budgets and tracking KPIs to meet aggressive growth targets.

● Creative Collaborator: While you're highly analytical, you also understand the importance of creative ad elements. You enjoy working with creative teams to develop compelling ad copy and visuals that resonate with audiences.

● Strategic Thinker: You can take a full-funnel approach, understanding how top-of-funnel awareness campaigns work in concert with bottom-of-funnel conversion efforts to deliver results.

● Collaborative: You work well with cross-functional teams, including product, creative, and marketing, to align on strategy and execute high-performing campaigns.

What You’ll Do

Within 30 days:

● Get familiar with this company’s brand, products, and current SEM, Google Shopping, PMax, and Amazon strategies to understand our positioning in the market.

● Conduct a comprehensive audit of all paid search campaigns across Google Ads, Google Shopping, Performance Max, and Amazon Sponsored Ads to identify optimization opportunities and quick wins.

● Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the marketing, creative, and analytics teams, to ensure alignment on goals and objectives.

● Establish a data-driven testing and optimization framework to drive continuous improvements in campaign performance.

Within 60 days:

● Take full ownership of all Google Ads campaigns, including PMax and Google Shopping, optimizing bidding strategies, ad copy, product feeds, and landing pages to improve visibility and conversions.

● Lead the day-to-day management and optimization of Amazon Sponsored Ads, ensuring that our products are maximizing visibility, CTR, and sales across Amazon’s ad offerings.

● Implement keyword optimization strategies for both branded and non-branded terms, ensuring that we are capturing high-intent traffic and growing our market share.

● Develop and test high-performing ad creative in collaboration with the creative team, using insights from performance data to continually improve.

● Continuously monitor KPIs such as impression share, CTR, CPA, and CAC, and use data to inform ongoing optimizations and strategic recommendations.

After 6 months:

● Scale SEM, Google Shopping, and Amazon Sponsored Ads campaigns, leveraging data insights to fuel growth across all paid search and e-commerce channels.

● Implement advanced tactics like remarketing, dynamic ads, and product listing optimizations to increase overall campaign efficiency and capture additional market share.

● Regularly present performance metrics and insights to leadership, highlighting wins, lessons learned, and recommendations for future investment in SEM and Amazon marketing.

● Be a key contributor to this company’s holistic growth strategy by integrating SEM and Amazon marketing efforts with other paid media and organic growth initiatives.
