Fall 2025 Undergraduate Intern, Communications- Creative
The ACLU seeks an Undergraduate Intern in the Communications Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY. This is a full-time, remote position. Intern is required to be based in the U.S.
The Team:
The Comms Team is responsible for promoting the ACLU’s mission, its brand and its programs through multi-faceted campaigns, digital communications, publications and digital platforms.
What You’ll Do:
The Graphic Design intern will be responsible for a variety of branding and key issue projects including supporting the organization’s digital asset management, the production of printed materials for a variety of purposes as well as graphics for the ACLU web site(s), multimedia and social media channels.
- Your Day to Day
- Website and multimedia graphics and design collateral
- Social media promotional design; memes
- Online advertising design support; buttons, banners
- Print project support
- Creative process coordination as directed by Digital Design lead
- What You’ll Bring:
- Digital design and/or print experience on Mac (PC okay).
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Premiere, After Effects or video editing skills welcome.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
- Commitment to civil liberties.

- Internship Logistics:
- Location: Our internship program offers a limited number of remote or hybrid intern positions. This internship is full-time and Remote from our NY National office.
- Time Commitment: Part-time (20 hours/week) or Full-time (35 hours/week).
- Internship Duration: Full-time internships span 10 consecutive weeks and part-time 12 weeks. This internship has a start date of: September 9th or September 23rd
- Stipend: A stipend is available for students who are lawfully authorized to work. Arrangements can be made with educational institutions for work/study or course credit.
- Below are the stipend rates:
- $20/hr for undergraduate students or equivalent experience
- $24/hr for graduate and law students or equivalent experience
