Executive Assistant - Michigan State Bar Foundation
The Michigan State Bar Foundation (MSBF) is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant with outstanding organizational and communication skills to provide high-level support to the Executive Director (ED). This hybrid position, based in Lansing, MI, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advancing access to justice in Michigan.About MSBFFounded in 1947, MSBF is committed to advancing access to justice through funding for civil legal aid and public education about the legal system. With over $210 million in grants awarded, MSBF supports essential services for low-income individuals. MSBF’s programs also educate the public about legal rights, the justice system, and alternative dispute resolution.Your Role and Impact As the Executive Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Executive Director and ensuring the efficiency of day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include:Executive Support:
- Manage and maintain the ED’s schedule, coordinating internal and external meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare, review, and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and coordinate meetings, including logistics, agendas, materials, and follow-up actions.
- Handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for board and volunteer committee meetings.
- As directed, draft and/or edit communications on behalf of the ED.
- Assist the ED and staff with key initiatives related to Access to Justice (ATJ), Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA), and the Fellows Program.
- Track project timelines, deliverables, and deadlines to ensure successful execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in administrative or executive support roles.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships.
- Experience working in a nonprofit law-related organization or small business environment (preferred).
- Familiarity with legal advocacy and policy issues (a plus).
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and in-office work.
