Position Overview:

We’re looking for a Backend Developer Intern to join our engineering team and help build the infrastructure behind our remote monitoring platform. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates who are passionate about backend systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure—and eager to explore the intersection of IoT, data, and AI.

You’ll work alongside developers and firmware engineers to improve system performance, process real-world sensor data, and support automation at scale.

    What You’ll Do:
  • Assist in developing backend services using Node.js, Python, or similar languages
  • Help design and implement RESTful APIs for data ingestion, device communication, and user interaction
  • Work with MongoDB and Redis to manage time-series sensor data and automation logic
  • Contribute to Docker-based deployments using Docker Compose
  • Support feature testing, debugging, and monitoring in development/staging environments
  • Collaborate with frontend and embedded systems teams to ensure seamless system operation
  • Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to internal documentation
    What We’re Looking For:
  • Familiarity with backend frameworks (e.g., Express.js, FastAPI)
  • Basic experience with databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar)
  • Understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous programming
  • Interest in IoT, machine learning, or real-time data systems
  • Comfortable using Git and command-line tools
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
    Bonus Skills (Not Required):
  • Exposure to machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • Experience working with IoT protocols or edge devices
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
    Internship Details:
  • Schedule: Flexible, 10–20 hours/week
  • Location: Remote
  • Compensation: Academic credit or stipend available
  • Duration: 3+ months with potential for part-time or full-time hire
