McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Healthcare Informatics Specialist to work primarily at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer within the General Administration department. This is a hybrid position with standard Monday - Friday business hours. The Healthcare Informatics Specialist ensures clinical system functionality aligns with workflows by collaborating with IT, vendor teams, and clinicians to educate, support, facilitate change, and assure optimal use and evolution of the organization's health information technology assets. This role involves assessing technology needs, managing application interactions with patient care workflows, and training healthcare staff on the deployment and management of health information systems.


Responsibilities




  • Act as a project manager, collaborating cross-functionally with IT, vendor teams, clinical staff, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure clinical system functionality aligns with future state workflows and standardization.

  • Collaborate with leadership in project/program planning and development to support department and organizational initiatives.
  • ,

  • Support the optimization and strategic development of the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient design in collaboration with staff from all departments.

  • Assess technology needs for clinicians and providers, leading efforts in planning, implementing, and evaluating solutions.
  • ,

  • Lead the design, development, testing, selection, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support mechanisms that are relevant to the care of patients.
  • ,

  • Manage complex interactions between applications being implemented and various patient care processes and workflows.
  • ,

  • Provide onboarding and ongoing training to healthcare staff on health information system deployment and management and develop training tools to support these efforts.
  • ,

  • Develop and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards to meet all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, and currently accepted legal standards.


Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Nursing, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • ,

  • Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • ,

  • Valid license in one of the following: RN, LPN, LCAS, LCMHC, LMFT, or LCSW is preferred.
