CART - Captionist

<p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:</strong></p><p>Focus Interpreting is seeking a skilled CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) Captionist to join our team. As a CART Captionist, you will be responsible for providing real-time captioning services to ensure accessibility for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul> <li>Provide accurate and timely real-time captioning during meetings, presentations, and other live events.</li> <li>Utilize CART software and equipment to create clear and readable captions that effectively convey the spoken content.</li> <li>Collaborate with clients and event organizers to understand specific needs and tailor captioning services accordingly.</li> <li>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all guidelines regarding sensitive information during captioning sessions.</li> <li>Continuously improve captioning skills and stay updated with industry standards and practices.</li> </ul><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul> <li>Proficient in English with exceptional grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.</li> <li>Experience in CART captioning or a related field preferred.</li> <li>Strong typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.</li> <li>Excellent comprehension abilities and the capacity to process spoken language quickly and accurately.</li> <li>Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of captioning quality.</li> </ul><p>If you are a highly skilled captionist who is passionate about making content accessible, we encourage you to apply!</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>- Proficient in English<br>- Experience in CART captioning preferred<br>- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute<br>- Excellent comprehension abilities<br>- Attention to detail</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Paid per minute with a fixed rate.</p>
