Ensures compliance of coding rules and regulations according to Regulatory Agencies (CMS, OIG). Works as a team to meet departmental goals and AR goals. Abstracts prescribed data elements from the medical records. Estimated pay range for this position is $28.98 - $37.67 / hour depending on experience.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong>Degrees:<br><br><ul><li>High Schoo Diploma or Equivalent<br><br></li></ul><strong>Licenses & Certifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must have AHIMA CCS or RHIT</li><li>AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist.</li><li>AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Required coding certificate.</li><li>With extensive relevant experience and not CCS or RHIT certified upon hire they must obtain within 2 years.</li><li>Knowledge and thorough understanding of encoder system, Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), DRG/MSDRGs and National and Local Coverage Determination, NCD and LCD, Policies.</li><li>Competency in Word and Excel.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management staff, and physicians.<br><br></li></ul>Minimum Required Experience: 3 years of inpatient facility coding<br><br>EOE, including disability/vets
