Recently, Albertsons has launched an internal business unit, Albertsons Media Collective, which focuses on Retail Media as a key growth driver. This unit was established on March 1, 2022, with ambitious goals to capture a significant share of the Retail Media market alongside other major retailers. The Senior Director of Sales for Agency and Brand partners/clients will leverage industry expertise to enhance agency and brand engagement, driving sales forward. This role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with agencies, their holding companies, and the brands they serve, including both CPG and non-endemic brands. The position is remote, ideally located near major agency and brand hubs such as Pleasanton, CA, Chicago, or New York. As a senior leader in The Collective, the individual will develop strategic plans to drive growth, lead business development efforts, and manage contract negotiations. The role requires collaboration across all levels of the organization and the ability to represent Albertsons with integrity and transparency. The successful candidate will be a visionary, technology-savvy, data-driven, articulate communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver.


Responsibilities




  • Own and develop the strategic plan for driving growth in assigned areas.

  • Lead business development and strategic selling efforts focused on agency holding companies and brand marketing organizations.
  • ,

  • Develop and nurture relationships with account-specific teams and senior executives at agencies and brand marketing organizations.
  • ,

  • Provide input into short and long-term forecasting models.

  • Negotiate agency terms and conditions and Master Service Agreements (MSAs) in coordination with Business Operations and legal teams.
  • ,

  • Lead the RFP process and manage contract negotiation and oversight where appropriate.

  • Collaborate across all levels of the Albertsons organization, both corporate and retail teams.
  • ,

  • Act as the key marketing voice, representing Albertsons and Albertsons Media Collective with integrity and transparency.

  • Establish, direct, and implement strategic oversight for client proposals and solicit feedback for continuous improvement.


Requirements




  • 10 years of related sales and marketing experience in retail and/or consumer packaged goods and ad tech.
  • ,

  • Existing relationships with key agency and brand media buyers and associated leaders.
  • ,

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and successfully close complex agency agreements including MSAs, Joint Business Agreements, and IOs.
  • ,

  • Thorough media expertise and robust knowledge of retail media elements such as 3P tagging, cookie deprecation, viewability standards, and pricing models.
  • ,

  • Hands-on experience within the agency landscape, understanding the role of Holding Companies and Agencies in the media buying ecosystem.
  • ,

  • Extensive background in brand and retail strategy, consumer marketing, and retail marketing research and insights.
  • ,

  • Strategic thinker willing to push the limits on traditional marketing.
