Job description: Our tutors (Science Learning Center) provide assistance to students by helping with lecture or lab materials, as well as help with study methods, or technology needed to complete course related material. Tutors may also assist with answering general questions about the college, providing assistance and guidance to college services. This tutor position will be focusing heavily on tutoring for Anatomy and Physiology materials.Location of Work: Tutoring will take place primarily in person at main campus (North Canton), there is a potential of working in Akron, as needed (substitute tutoring).Hours of Work: Flexible during outlined times for the Science Learning Center (SLC).
SLC is open Monday through Thursday 10am to 7pm.Hourly Pay Range: $14.96/hour to $20.19/hourWho We Are:

In this role, you will empower students to excel in coursework through personalized support and guidance.Typical duties include:Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for anatomy and physiology courses including tutoring students in Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab materials.Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere conducive to academic success for all students.Assist students in mastering anatomical terminology, physiological processes, and lab techniques.Guide students in studying for exams, understanding body systems, and interpreting lab results.Use interactive tools such as models, diagrams, and practice quizzes to enhance learning.Collaborate with faculty and fellow Learning Coaches to develop tailored resources and workshops to support student learning.
To be considered you'll need:
A bachelor's degree in biology or closely related field such as a medical degree, chiropractor, exercise physiology, or physical therapy is required with course(s) in anatomy or physiology is preferred.Preferred Qualifications
- Previous tutoring experience is desired but not required.
- Comfortable with both in-person and online instruction platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Expected salary: $14.96 - 20.19 per hour
