Job description: The Divinity School at the University of Chicago invites applications for part-time positions(s) as Lecturer in Introductory Koine Greek for Autumn 2025 and Winter 2026 (September 22, 2025 through March 14, 2026). The successful candidate will teach one section of Introductory Koine Greek I in Autumn and one section of Introductory Koine Greek II in Winter to graduate and undergraduate students. Teaching must happen in person.The Lecturer will be responsible for lesson-plan design, classroom instruction, holding weekly office hours, and the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials. The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the University and the Service Employees International Union. This position is contingent on final budgetary approval. The compensation for this position is $8,883 per course. This position is not benefits-eligible.QualificationsApplicants must have a Ph.D., including training in Greek and knowledge of the Greek Bible (New Testament and Septuagint). Experience teaching at the university or four-year-college level is preferred.Application InstructionsApplications should be made online at .
