Job description: Job Description:Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as a Project Manager II !About the roleAs a Project Manager II, you will be working on enterprise level tasks to deliver enhancements for our Retirement Products. You'll be facilitating the work with multiple customers and partners across various departments and functions, both internally and externally.What you will do


  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and deliver quality results that meet Customer expectations.

  • Develop project structure, detailed schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Assemble resources and manage the project team so that project objectives are delivered within time, scope, quality or budget constraints.

  • Clearly communicate project status and metrics with all Stakeholders affected by the project as well as Corporate Governance and the Executive Management team.

  • Actively manage risks, issues and concerns throughout the project lifecycle and employ effective change control processes.

  • Reviews project deliverables for accuracy and provides assistance and mentoring to others.

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred (relevant experience may substitute)

  • Project Management certification preferred

  • 3-5 years of business or industry experience

  • 2-5 years of leadership experience

  • 3-5 years managing projects with formal methodologies and tools

  • Proven team building and leadership skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong influencing ability

  • Proficient in project management methodologies, resource, and change management

  • Experienced in creating and maintaining key project deliverables (charters, plans, reports, etc.)

  • Skilled in managing project scope, issues, quality, budget, and timelines for successful delivery
