ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be challenged to do:
- Work on diverse project assignments which may include highway bridges, freight and passenger rail structures, and miscellaneous structural assignments.
- Analyzes information and data to perform routine design tasks.
- Prepares structural design and plan preparation of structural drawings.
- Reviews project design for general compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Assures the project meets quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
- Research design options and document findings.
- Responsible as a member of the design team for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards..
- Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.
- Gain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals.
- May be asked to participate in non-design engineering activities such as construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data collection.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from an ABET accredited school.
- Experience in MS-Office; Familiarity with Structural analysis and CADD programs such as AutoCAD, Microstation, RISA, MDX, and LEAP preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
- EIT (Preferred)
- Masters Degree (preferred)
