The Landing Systems Digital Thread team needs you to manage the Databricks workspace, including setting up and configuring clusters, notebooks, and jobs.This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.What YOU will do:
- Ensure smooth operation of the Databricks environment, including user access control, workspace organization, and resource provisioning.
- Maintain/monitor our cloud storage solutions like S3 and Azure Blob Storage, as we transition between cloud environments, ensuring data availability and durability.
- Work closely with our Collins Xeta teams to ensure that Databricks infrastructure adheres to industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Monitor Databricks clusters, jobs, and resources to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot, resolve and anticipate performance issues, bugs, job failures, and resource constraints in a timely manner.
- Provide support and coach for data engineering, data science, and analytics teams by managing and configuring Databricks resources.
- Document Databricks configuration, cluster setup, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Advocate for Agile Methodology and de the facilitator of Agile Ceremonies.
- Identify action plan when metrics are not aligned with business goals and develop corrective action plan.
- Support audits and resulting corrective actions.

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- 3+ years working experience with Python and Pyspark.
- 2+ years working experience in Databricks platform, including managing clusters, notebooks, jobs, and workflows.
- Experience with Agile methodology as Scrum Master, including DevOps practices
- Experience with GitHub and Git operations, knowing how to commit, pull, and push changes from the Databricks environment to GitHub for smooth version control and collaboration.
- Knowledge of Spark, Delta Lakes and data engineering concepts.
- Understanding of cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge in AI/ Machine Learning.
- Experience setting up and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks.
- Experience working independently and in a team environment.
- Expertise in industry best practices to drive and advocate for continuous process improvement.
