The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing water treatment, reuse and optimization solutions to existing clients while assisting in business development to provide high-quality deliverables on time and on budget to AE2S clients.Responsibilities
- Provide professional services for water treatment, reuse, and optimization projects to include project management, optimization, design, and construction administration
- Provide client-focused solutions through research, analyses, and delivery of treatment approaches such as coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, ozone/UV/Chlorine disinfection, absorption, granular media filtration, biological filtration, membrane filtration, etc.
- Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients
- Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities
- Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
- Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments
- Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
- Collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector
- Technical proficiency in water treatment technology, reuse assessment and management, modeling, and/or design of water treatment plants, pipelines, and pump stations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development
- Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members
- Knowledge of design standards and permitting
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
- Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- 8+ years of experience in municipal water engineering (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of project financials & funding programs
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town

- Anticipated Starting Salary: $82,800/year to $101,200/year DOE (Compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, etc.) This position will remain posted until it is filled.
