Job description: Financial Data Analyst – Data Engineer OverviewThis role is responsible for the development of data delivery solutions that support operational data reporting, including datasets, extracts, reports, and dashboards. This role will be responsible for proactively developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical environments within various business functions in support of GEICO’s operational data reporting. As a member of an agile team, the incumbent assists with testing, validation, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-implementation support. This includes writing code that builds datasets, metrics, and data needed for our business partners.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a strong foundation in modern data architecture concepts like, data warehouse, data mart, data lake, data lakehouse, data mesh, etc.Lead data model design and architect data delivery solutions for complex projectsAdvise on data delivery technologies and strategiesProficiently execute all phases of the development of automated data delivery processes for reporting and dashboards using ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, etc.Apply expertise in SQL to write, debug and optimize queries and data pipelinesMigrate existing SAS solutions to technologies used widely at GEICO, such as dbt and Power BIWork closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement data models and architectures to support client projects and initiativesPerform and automate daily maintenance processesAssist with data and database migrations, testing, and validationDefine development standards and best practicesPromote a culture of continuous refinement of capabilities and processesAssist with project and time management, including estimates and status reportingConduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning functionsStrong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are requiredProvide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members as neededQualificationsMust be able to work both independently and in a team environmentMust be able to multi-taskMust be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural informationMust be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writingMust have the following experience:Relevant work experience of 7+ years (preferred)Hybrid work requirement: location specificLocation: This position is a hybrid role. It is required to be on-site 3 days per week at one of the following office locations: Chevy Chase, MD, Chicago, IL, New York, NY.Annual Salary $104,550.00 - $172,200.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
