DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Records and Information Governance (RIG) is a UW Medicine department in ERHI. As required by RCW 40.14, RIG is responsible for managing records in all formats that are created and received by UW Medicine in compliance with laws and regulations relating to the preservation and destruction of public records.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises and assigns work to nine direct in the scanning and indexing operations during the shift. Assigns work based on operational need in collaboration with the Document Integrity Governance Manager. Maintains work performance of unit through job shadowing in order to assess quality and to identify in-service training needs.



  • With the input from the Document Integrity Governance Manager, interview, select, hire, and train new staff. Recommends and works with HR on corrective action. Completes weekly 1:1's with staff to maintain trust and rapport. Performs timekeeping and maintains the staff calendar



  • Using identified competencies, monitor individual performance and conduct performance evaluations for new and continuing staff



  • Participates in developing policies, processes, and procedures. Implements and evaluates the effectiveness of new policies, processes, and procedures. Investigates and recommends new programs within the Division.



  • Provides essential departmental services to customers; services including but not limited to: answering client questions, escalating calls as appropriate, working with Document Integrity Governance Manager to resolve any issues, point of contact to resolve problems

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCertified as an Accredited Record Technician (ART), or Certified Coding Specialist (CSS), or Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) AND two years of applicable experience in records and information governance.ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience.*Candidates should be able to provide references that can verify supervisory experience*UW Medicine - Where your Impact Goes Further
