Job description: OverviewHow you can make a differenceWe are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the development and delivery of cutting-edge cybersecurity and fraud prevention tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and delivering secure, scalable solutions using Golang for core product development and Python for automation. This role requires a proactive, independent engineer with a strong background in supporting security or fraud teams to address cyber defense, fraud prevention, and security automation challenges.What you’ll be doing
- Design, develop, and maintain cybersecurity and fraud prevention tools using Golang for high-performance, scalable product builds.
- Create and implement automation scripts and workflows using Python to enhance security workflows and streamline processes.
- Collaborate with Distinguished/Principal Engineers and Cyber Engineers to solution and deliver innovative tools that address emerging threats in cyber defense and fraud prevention.
- Ensure secure coding practices and robust testing to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions.
- Drive projects from concept to deployment, ensuring alignment with business and security objectives.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and fraud tactics to inform tool development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on cybersecurity or fraud prevention tooling.
- Proficient and independent experience in Golang for building secure, scalable, and high-performance applications, with demonstrated expertise in:
- Golang’s concurrency model, including goroutines and channels, to develop efficient, parallelized security tools.
- Building RESTful APIs and microservices in Go for secure, scalable deployments.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and integrating security workflows.
- Proven experience working with or directly supporting security teams in designing and delivering cybersecurity or fraud prevention solutions.
- Familiarity with open-source tools and frameworks in the cybersecurity domain (e.g., intrusion detection, SIEM, fraud detection libraries).
- Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and a track record of contributing to or leveraging open-source cybersecurity projects.
- Experience with cloud-native security tools and platforms (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, or similar) for deploying and securing distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and DevSecOps principles.
- Ability to deliver complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling cutting-edge cybersecurity challenges.
- Contributions to open-source cybersecurity or fraud prevention projects (e.g., GitHub repositories, tool development).
- Knowledge of modern fraud detection techniques, including machine learning or behavioral analytics.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, GDPR, or PCI-DSS.Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Rust, C++) for security-focused applications.
- Knowledge of cyber threats and threat-informed defense concepts**, including adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and their application to prevention methodologies such as proactive threat hunting, zero-trust architecture, and behavior-based detection.
